Today on the YouTube channel, I’m sharing my first cooking video! I’m not the best chef, so this was a real struggle for me to put together. But you guys have been asking me for a long time to do cooking videos, so here we are.

I attempted to make axoa, a traditional stew from Iparralde, the Northern Basque Country, AKA the French Basque Country. I rarely cook meat, so this was a little bit of a struggle for me, but the result was delicious! Watch me attempt this Basque dish in today’s video.

The recipe I used for this video came from The Basque Kitchen: Tempting Food from the Pyrenees by Gerald Hirigoyen. You can see more information about that cookbook here.

I wanted there to be a resource on YouTube for anyone searching about Basque culture to learn more about it, so I hope this video is helpful and interesting.

Be sure to Subscribe to the Hella Basque YouTube channel to catch the next videos in the series. New videos posted every Thursday!
